Online Stories to listen to and watch:
Storyline Online: (description from site) The Screen Actors Guild Foundation records well-known actors reading children’s books and makes graphically dynamic videos so that children around the world can be read to with just the click of a Storyline Online video book image.
Read to Me: Storytellers and celebrities read some story books aloud. It shows the illustrations. There are also lesson plans for teachers.
Online Stories to read along with (text and audio included):
Speekaboos: Darling animated stories. Students pick topic for a book to choose. Words highlight as you read along.
Between the Lions: Stories to read and games to play. I like the fables and folktales. The words are highlighted as they are read aloud to animated stories.

This site has some books with an audio on/off option. The text is available to read along. There are also some excellent classic stories and fairytales available here.
National Geographic for Kids
Awesome photographs and animal information. You can read it, and/or have it read to you by clicking the audio icon on each page. Just like an online magazine. Very appealing for our young scientists.

We Give Books
We Give Books has storybooks online for children to read. For every book they read online, the Pearson Foundation and the Penguin Group donate a book to charity. You can search for books by category and age groups. You will need to create a login, but it is free.
International Children's Library
These books do not have audio, but there are several to choose from to read online.

This site has some books with an audio on/off option. I love that the text is there to read along. There are also some excellent classic stories and fairytales available here.
National Geographic for Kids
